Jamboree Tip Number 1

Freezer Defrosting Method

Jamborees offer attendees camaraderie anda chance to share
and learn from other TCers about their experiences.

At a recent Jamboree, the topic of freezer
defrosting was discussed. Seems like everyone had their own method of defrosting.

One six-minute method discussed was to place a plastic
table mat along the back inside wall of the freezer.
The ice would collect and build up on the mat and
not on the wall of the freezer.

Depending upon the width of the freezer’s back wall, one or two mats are needed.

When the ice buildup was too thick (1/4 of an inch),
the mat was removed, the ice washed away in the sink,
the mat dried, and then placed back in the freezer.

The time to complete this method is less than six minutes.
