Amana
The Pietists, a German religious movement, purchased 5,000 acres near Buffalo, New York, in the 18th century. Needing more land for their growing community, they purchased land in Iowa, moved the community there, and established seven villages.

The last community to be incorporated was Homestead, which provided the communities with access to the railroad.
There is no platform for arriving or departing passengers, as only freight trains use the tracks today – at least the ticket agent stays cool with his air conditioner.

Here you will find award-winning premium beers and their famous Old Time Root Beer. You can view the brewing and bottling process, enjoy samples, and visit their outdoor beer garden.
